We believe it's never too late to become more active. Keeping as active as possible will benefit our mental wellbeing as well as our physical health. It enables us to meet new people and helps us to reduce the risk of us becoming lonely or feeling isolated.
In light of the Chief Medical Officer's new guidelines for physical activity, stressing the importance of strength training for physical wellbeing, we are delighted to launch our new campaign 'My Age Can'.
We know that around 60% of individuals over the age of 65 meet the guidelines for sport and physical activity. With 22% of the Worcestershire population over 65 (4% above the national average), we want to demonstrate that physical activity is right for them, done by people like them and led by people they recognise.
