Promote your activity to young women and girls through local sporting campaign

Sports clubs, community organisations and leisure providers across Herefordshire and Worcestershire are being encouraged to get involved and support the Worcs Girls Can and Here Girls Can campaigns being held next month.

The local campaigns, styled on the national 'This Girl Can' initiative, are designed to get women and girls moving, regardless of shape, size or ability.

The project, now in its third year, is delivered by the Sports Partnership Herefordshire & Worcestershire (SPHW), in collaboration with eight lead schools across the two counties which in 2018 are:

Lead Schools for Worcestershire

Westacre Middle School – Worcester City and Droitwich

The Chantry School – Malvern Hills

Trinity High School & Sixth Form – Redditch

Prince Henry's High School – Wychavon

Baxter College – Wyre Forest

Aston Fields Middle School – Bromsgrove

Lead Schools for Herefordshire

St Mary's RC High

Whitecross High

As part of the campaign, each girl is given a 'Peach Pass' which entitles them to participate in a new activity, free of charge, which could be anything from yoga to climbing.

Ruth Jones, Project Manager, said, 'We are looking for local providers to support the 'Peach Pass' initiative. If you run a club or organisation which you would like to promote to local women and girls then we would love you to get involved. All you have to do is offer a free of charge session and we will promote it across the two counties.'

For further information, please contact Ruth Jones at the SPHW r.jones@worc.ac.uk.
