Course Information

This course is for anyone involved in the delivery of sport, from coaches and referees to club chairman and caterers. Learn the very latest techniques by qualified and experienced trainers. An enjoyable and practical course which explores the role of the First Aider and covers all the common injuries such as sprains and strains, as well as what to do in the event of something more serious occurring. The minimum age to attend this course is 16 years.

This course now includes a practical, automated external defibrillator (AED) awareness using trainer AEDs.

Learning Outcomes

  • Learn how to deal with the types of emergencies that can occur in sport
  • Theory into practice
  • No exam, skills assessed during the workshop by the trainer

Pre-requisites

Selected first aiders should physically be able to perform the relevant actions and techniques included in the syllabus. For reasonable adjustments for disabilities please contact Active Norfolk

Warning: This course requires close contact with other delegates and first aid manikins and contains subjects, videos and images of injuries appropriate to the subjects. Some delegates may find theses distressing or act squeamishly. Please let the trainer know if this may be an issue before the start of the course.
