Roller Derby is an all-girl contact sports. It's fierce, feisty, fast paced and fun.

An Overview of Roller Derby

Two teams of 5 skaters battle it out for position over a series of "jams" which last up to 2 minutes. Four "blockers" on each team and one "jammer". The jammer's job is to score points. After her initial pass through the "pack" of blockers, a jammer will score one point each time she passes a member of the opposing team. The blockers attempt to assist their own jammer while hindering the opposing jammer — playing both offense and defence simultaneously.

The game ends after the period clock runs out, and the team with the most points wins.

Players skate on four-wheeled roller skates, and are required to wear protective equipment, including a helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads, and mouth guards.

The Core Skate Hereford CIC

The Core was open in August 2014 providing a community need for a permanent roller skating rink in Hereford. As well as professionally delivered Roller skating sessions, The Core is also home to a number of alternative sports and activities.

Worcester Wyldlings Roller Derby

Worcester Wyldlings is a Roller Derby team, formed in 2015.
We train on a Tue evening from 7:45 till 10pm at St Johns Sports Center, Worcester.
