2019 Impact

During Here Girls Can and Worcs Girls Can 2019, we measured and tried to gain more insights into our Lead Schools programme during the week, how did they attract and engage inactive girls and why is it good to become a This Girl Can Champion and how the Champions can help to engage and inspire inactive girls.

537 students filled out feedback forms from across 8 schools.

The top 3 barriers to participation reported by these students were as follows;

1. Fear of judgement

2. Too self-conscious to take part

3. None of their friends took part

Upon the conclusion of the This Girl Can Campaign, students were asked how they felt about sport and physical activity as a result of taking part in the campaign. On average students from Worcestershire based schools stated that they had increased positive feelings towards sport and physical activity.
