UK Coaching have recently updated the Governing Body of Sport Coach Registration and Licensing Scheme Guide. The purpose of this guide is to highlight which governing bodies of sport have coach registration and licensing schemes in place across England and the UK.
Minimum Standards for Active Coaches of Children and Young People is an interactive tool that builds on the Minimum Standards for Active Coaches – Core Guidance by providing guidance on the appropriate qualification for a lead coach and information on recommended additional training that a coach should consider when working with children and young people.
The Coaching in Primary Schools Toolkit is a UK Coaching resource providing schools with guidance around: Primary PE and Sport Premium, Utilising Coaches, Recruiting Coaches, Monitoring and Evaluating and Further Resources.
It is important that coaches whether voluntary or paid, are appropriately insured, which is why UK Coaching has launched their Insurance Guidance Toolkit. The guide helps organisations secure the most appropriate insurance for their workforce, whether they directly employ and deploy coaches or need to provide insurance for affiliated coaches deployed within affiliated organisations (e.g. within clubs).
